The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) has awarded Group Saltó a new grant to finance the development of an open and neutral software project to manage work forces in the field.
The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) is a public organisation that depends on the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICINN) has awarded GROUP SALTÓ a new grant from the R+D+i project financing line through which the company will be able to advance in the development of its own open software for workforce management. The project, which arose from the internal need to optimise technical activity in the field, is at an advanced stage of development, but needs further adjustments.
Developed in conjunction with the Bdigital technology centre, the platform allows work orders to be managed through an internal flow that facilitates the control of tasks from start to finish. So far, Group Saltó has implemented a web tool and an application that the technicians have installed on an Android smart phone. In a more advanced phase of the project, the system will allow work orders to be assigned according to the location of each technician, calculate routes or select the most suitable personnel according to the distance in which they are located and the expertise of each person.
In the future, Group Saltó plans to apply its expertise in Workforce Management in other sectors that would allow the adaptation of this platform: health (home care), vehicle maintenance (road care), home maintenance (home repairs), infrastructure maintenance (lifts, supplies), etc…
The partial application of the platform in the company’s activity has increased productivity in the management of technical incidents and field operations by up to 20%. Group Saltó expects to continue its commitment to the development of the platform in new sectors and to advance towards internationalisation.
