Population ageing is one of the major social and healthcare challenges of our time. In this context, technology is positioned as a key tool to improve the quality of life of older people and optimize care models.
With this objective, ROBOCAT was created. An ambitious industrial research project in which Group Saltó participates alongside a broad ecosystem of technological, social, and healthcare entities across Catalonia.
A collaborative project for a global challenge
ROBOCAT is part of strategic initiatives in the field of digital health and brings together research centers, technology companies, universities, and organizations from the social and healthcare sector. This collaborative approach makes it possible to address the challenge of ageing from a comprehensive perspective, combining scientific knowledge, technological innovation, and real-world experience.
The main goal of the project is to develop solutions based on assistive robotics that help improve personal autonomy and the well-being of older adults, while also supporting care professionals.
A modular platform at the service of people
One of the pillars of ROBOCAT is the development of a modular robotic platform, designed to adapt to different environments and needs. This platform combines advanced hardware and software to enable the integration of multiple functionalities within a single system. The project also incorporates a digital platform that enables efficient fleet management of robots, as well as the design and validation of specific robotic applications.
Co-creation plays a fundamental role: solutions are designed and validated in collaboration with older adults, professionals, and social organizations, ensuring that the technology responds to real-life situations and has a tangible impact.
Group Saltó in ROBOCAT
As part of the consortium, Group Saltó contributes its expertise in applied technology and innovative solutions, leading the development of the remote orchestration and fleet management platform, as well as the development of the applications Marketplace, bringing its know-how in user interfaces, cloud systems, and mobile applications.
Our participation in ROBOCAT reinforces our commitment to technological innovation at the service of people, especially in sectors where social impact is most significant.
The project is part of the Intelligent Digital Health subproject within the RETECH program, under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union’s Next Generation EU funds.
